Why this firm exists

Built for the owners who built something.

Baker Business Advisors is the business value-building and transaction advisory division of Baker Wealth Management — built specifically for owners whose business is their largest, least-planned-for asset.

The story

An advisory practice, extended to where owners actually need help.

[Placeholder — replace with the real founding story: why Baker Wealth Management started BBA, what gap in the market you saw, and what makes the "quarterback the transaction" role different from a typical advisory relationship. Jason/Michael to supply final narrative.]

The team

The people behind the plan.

Jason Baker

Co-Founder & President, Baker Wealth Management

Jason's fascination with markets started at age ten, when his mother bought him a single share of stock — the original certificate still hangs in his office. He graduated from Clemson with a degree in Economics in 1994 and became a registered financial professional the following year. He holds the Series 4, 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses, Life & Health Insurance licensure, and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation.

Jason's approach starts with a client's story, not their portfolio — values drive the goals, and the goals drive the plan. That same philosophy carries into Baker Business Advisors: for an owner, the business itself is usually the biggest piece of that story, and it deserves the same disciplined, values-first planning as everything else.

Dawn Baker, CFP®

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, Baker Wealth Management

Dawn graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and began her career as a financial advisor in 1998 after noticing how many of her peers lacked basic financial literacy. She holds the Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses, long-term care and Life & Health Insurance licensure, and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) in 2016. She has spoken as a panelist at Cambridge's national and women's conferences and serves as a FINRA arbitrator.

Dawn's instinct is to find the weak point in a plan before it becomes a problem. For business owners, that same instinct is what catches the gap between how a business runs day to day and whether it's actually ready for a transition — well before that gap becomes expensive.

Michael Gregson

Series 7 & 66 · Cambridge Investment Research

Michael brings nearly thirty years of Wall Street leadership to Baker Business Advisors — as both an executive and an entrepreneur. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles inside firms that were themselves acquired or taken public, giving him a first-hand view of what a transaction actually looks like from inside the walls — the diligence, the integration, the moments that make or break value at the table. He later founded and built his own firm, and eventually led it through a successful acquisition by a national wealth management firm.

That combination — operating executive, business owner, and someone who has personally sat on more than one side of a transaction — is uncommon in wealth advisory. It's also exactly the experience Baker Business Advisors is built around: helping owners build a business worth acquiring, then walking them through what it actually takes to get the deal done. At Baker Business Advisors, Michael leads day-to-day client engagement, research, and execution.
